Training in the art of classical ballet since the age of four, I have always possessed a passion for dance. Now, as a retired regional professional dancer and former Adjunct Professor of Dance at Hamilton College, my love for movement has extended further than the walls of the dance studio. I initiated my own fitness journey in 2017, seeking ways to amply cross-train beyond ballet classes while also exploring outlets for physical and mental stress relief. By conditioning my body more in line with fitness principles, my dancing was taken to the next level - I finally understood my body, its mechanics, and how all these pieces fit together to generate greater power, endurance, stability, and, most important, confidence onstage.

Today, as a certified personal trainer, Classical Pilates instructor, and group fitness instructor, I work to empower my clients while also providing high quality instruction. My motto, above anything else, is to ensure that my clients come away feeling as though they have learned something, from every session and/or class. Working out is not merely about performing movements correctly and burning calories - it is a dynamic way of forming mind-body connections that are challenging but achievable, all while pushing oneself to gratifying ends. Who wouldn't want to boast about being strong? I sure do!

Diagnosed with Crohn's disease, SIBO, and IBS all at once, my life was turned upside down as I was forced, by the troubling nature of my gut, to restructure my entire nutritional approach. I was constantly in pain and could not decipher what was wrong. The Low FODMAP Diet has since turned into a gluten-free, seed-free, and almost fully refined-sugar free lifestyle. What seemed so vast and difficult (and trust me, it was) is now my new norm, and I have learned how to function. The best part? I feel the best I ever have and am now, finally, able to live my life with less anxiety revolving around every meal and its potential effects on digestion.

In short, none of this is easy, and it is not my job to make it seem as though all is peachy keen. Life will creep up and try its best to get in the way, in whatever shape or form. Instead, I reinforce the notion that it is doable. And that is what a journey through fitness is all about. Setting you-specific goals, working toward them, and acknowledging room for the grace that we, as humans, must grant ourselves.

So let's make moves toward the happiest, healthiest, and most sustainable version of you, together.
